With its lively town center, historic train station just 30 minutes from Philadelphia, top-ranked public schools and easy access to major highways, Wayne is a great place to call home. Its oldest residential area is one of Pennsylvania's earliest "planned communities.” An 1887 brochure promotes "a town built by design,” complete with "water, light and drainage, the three great conveniences of a large city, achieved by the most modern methods." 

Even today, many of Wayne's most popular neighborhoods are those walkable to the train station and downtown, home to numerous boutiques, cafes and restaurants, the beloved Anthony Wayne movie house and the beautifully restored Wayne Hotel. Close by is a farmer’s market and art center. It's just a short drive to the historic estate Chanticleer, proclaimed "America's most inspiring garden” by Garden Design magazine. Many sources rank Wayne as one of America's “Top 100 Places to Live.”
