Meet the Woman Behind Sage Realty

Nearly a decade ago, Linda Walters started Sage because she wanted to use her legal training in a new way and try her hand at starting a company. Always having worked in real estate and loving everything about houses (and decorating), Linda thought Sage would be the perfect fit.

Linda answers some frequently asked questions including her favorite local places and proves why you should buy your next home with a native and an expert.

 

Where do you live?

Wayne, Pa

What style home do you have?

I bought a ranch home on a great lot in a great neighborhood in North Wayne and then added a second story master bedroom and a family room. It’s now more of a Craftsman-style home.

How long have you lived there?

I have lived in this house for 8 years. Before that, I lived in South Wayne for 10 years.

What’s your favorite place to eat near where you live?

That is a hard choice because there are so many good places in Wayne. I like upstairs at Margaret Kuo’s and also Teresa’s Cafe for dinner. Elegance Bakery and the Gryphon Cafe for lunch or coffee.

Where are your favorite local places to go for fun?

The Eagle Village Shops for clothes and shoes. I like walking in Skunk Hollow Park, McKaig Nature Center and Valley Forge National Park and I swim at Cabrini College’s pool.

Can you recommend some home decorating tips?

When you decorate, you should start with one item that you love–a rug or a piece of pottery or a painting. Then take that with you when you pick the rest of the things for the room–the paint, furniture, fabrics and accessories. Make sure they all “speak to each other” and the result will surprise you at how pleasing it will be to you and to others.

What’s been your most memorable moment as a home buying agent?

I really cherish the times when my buyers invite me back to their new homes to see how they have made them “their own.” That happens often, and its my favorite part of the process every time.

Why are home buying agencies like Sage important?

Because the industry was originally set up to have all of the agents representing the seller, it is still not uncommon for people to fail to understand that they can have their own agent representing THEM when they buy a home. Sage is an example of a boutique buyers agency in that the company never represents sellers, and all of its efforts are geared toward buyers’ issues.
