Changes are Constant in the Real Estate Business

Main Line Realtor®I love my job as a Main Line Realtor®, but some weeks in the real estate business are a bit like spinning wheels in the snow. Two clients who had been looking for a very long time with limited success finally found what they were looking for and went under agreement to buy; this Main Line Realtor® was very happy for them. In both cases, the clients then elected to terminate the deal, and being an agent means you are responsible for doing what the client wants you to do in the best way possible. Hopefully soon my clients will find just the right place.

Interestingly, in this business of real estate, you never know when the next person will call to say they want to use you to buy or sell a house. They come from every direction. My most recent client is moving here from the West Coast and his agent out there contacted me through a website we both belong to. Another boutique broker/owner, he wanted the same level of service for his moving client and I was happy to take it on. The client just accepted an offer on his home where he lives so he should be able to buy here with no issues (fingers crossed that deal goes through!).

I am excited to show my new client all the wonderful neighborhoods that are a decent commute from where he will be working. Our taxes are higher than he was used to paying, so that will be something we need to discuss. So many times, the better school districts have higher taxes, and I have to explain how the values of the houses reflect the quality of the schools through the taxes. He seems like a quick study, but he also has no children (yet) and may not want to be paying for schools he is not using.

As a long-time resident and Realtor® in Philadelphia’s Main Line area, I enjoy all of the neighborhoods where my new client will be looking and cannot wait to find him the house of his dreams! Helping buyers find their dream homes is one of my favorite parts about the Philadelphia real estate business.
