Sage Realty was founded in 2003 by Linda Walters as an alternative to the typical real estate company practice of representing both sides in a residential transaction. Sage initially focused primarily on representing buyers, who had traditionally been the parties who suffered from this practice—where the seller’s agent often accepted the role of preparing and negotiating the buyer’s offer. To Linda, trained as an attorney to be the advocate for one side or the other, this “dual agency” practice was an impossibility and inherently unfair to buyers.
For many years, Sage was an exclusive buyer’s agency, representing only buyers. As time passed, former clients wanted Sage to help them buy their next home, Sage began listing their homes for them, and since 2014, when Sage began to grow by adding agents who were listing experts, Sage is a full-service Main Line real estate company–helping clients buy and sell their homes—just never representing both sides at the same time.
